View and manage maintenance items

Note: Axeda Preventive Maintenance is a separately licensed application. If the Platform is not licensed for it, the Preventive Maintenance application and associated tools and features will not display in the Applications. (Contact Axeda Technical Support for more information.) Also, your ability to view maintenance targets is controlled by user group privileges. Contact your Platform administrator if you have questions about your privileges.

The View and manage maintenance items page displays a list of the maintenance items currently configured in the Platform. From this page you can search for, view, edit, and delete existing maintenance items.

o Name - The unique identifier assigned to the maintenance item. This name is a link that you can click to start the Maintenance Item wizard and edit any of the item attributes.

o Description - The explanation of the maintenance item entered when the item was either created or last edited.

o Target Count - The maintenance counter value that, when reached, will require that the asset(s) be serviced.

Procedures from this page

From this page, you can search for and view maintenance items; select a maintenance item to edit; and remove maintenance items. Click the title of a procedure to display it. Click the title again to hide the procedure.

To search for and view maintenance items

You must have the privilege, View Maintenance Item, to view the list of maintenance items. By default, the filtering tools are hidden.

1. Click Filters to display the filtering options.

2. To filter the list by names of maintenance items, type part or all of a maintenance item name in the field above the Maintenance item column. You can use a wildcard character (*) in this field.

3. To search for maintenance items by a word or phrase in the descriptions of maintenance items, type all or part of the word or phrase in the field above the Description column. You can use a wildcard character (*) in this field.

4. Click Filter to run the search.

5. In the search results, you can sort the list in ascending or descending order by clicking the column heading. For example, to sort the table by the next service date, click the Target Date column heading.

To edit maintenance items

You must have the privilege, Edit Maintenance Item, to edit maintenance items.

In the list of maintenance items, click the name of the maintenance item you want to edit. This action starts the maintenance item wizard, where you can change the attributes of the maintenance item. Note that you cannot change the Name of the maintenance item.

To remove maintenance items

You must have the privilege, Delete Maintenance Item, to remove maintenance items. In addition, you cannot delete a maintenance item if it is associated with any Rules or Actions. The Platform displays an error message if you try to delete a maintenance item that is associated with a Rule or Action.

1. Select the check box in the right-most column of the line for the maintenance item.

2. Click Remove.

3. When prompted, click OK to confirm that you want to delete the maintenance item. To cancel the deletion, click Cancel.

To view assets due for maintenance

1. Navigate to the Axeda® Service application.

2. On the View menu, select Assets due for Maintenance. If you hover over the menu item, a second-level menu displays the assets that are due for maintenance. If you select an asset from this second-level menu, the Service Asset dashboard for that asset appears. If you select the menu item, the Assets due for maintenance page appears.

Tips

o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o Use $image\icon_refresh.gif$ (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)

o Use the Jump to list to view or edit other information for the user group. All Jump to options are described in Jump to list for a user group. The Jump To options shown depend upon your security access and privileges in the Applications.
