Assets By Status

Shows all assets to which you have privileges and their associated asset conditions. You can select to filter this table to view only those assets matching specific criteria.

o Asset condition icon which shows a colored ball that indicates the current condition, as defined in the Configuration application.

o Name - assigned to the asset in the Platform; the name is a link to the Asset dashboard, where you can view information about the asset.

o Last Contact - the date and time of the last data message sent from the asset.

How to filter the list of assets

1. If no search fields are visible, click Filters to show the Simple filter boxes.

2. To view all assets to which you have privileges, click Clear without typing any search values. To narrow your search, select the criteria you want to use for the search.

a. In the list above the Status column, select the asset condition to use for the search.

b. In the box above the Name column, type all or part of the name of the asset(s) you want to find. (The Platform will return all names that contain the characters you specified.)

c. In the box above the Organization column, select the organization to include in the search.

d. In the box above the Location column, select the location to include in the search.

3. Click Filter.

The Platform finds all assets that contain the search value(s) defined and shows only those assets in this table.

How to narrow your search further

1. With the Simple filter boxes still displayed, click Advanced.

2. To select the advanced search criteria, do the following:

a. Select the Asset Group to include in the search. The names of all asset groups to which you have privileges appear in the list. Once you select a name, the name of the Parent Asset Group for the selected asset group appears in the Parent Asset Group field. For example, if you select the name of a default model asset group, such as Model XYZ Default Group, the Parent Asset Group field shows the name of the Parent Asset Group for all default model asset groups, Default Model Group.

Note: It is possible for two asset groups of the same name to exist in two different asset group hierarchies in the Platform, so check the Parent Asset Group to ensure that you have the correct asset group.

b. Select the Gateway to include in the search.

3. Click Filter.

How to add assets to the Watch list

1. For an asset shown in the table, select the check box after the Last Contact column.

To add all assets shown to your Watch list, select the check box in the table header. This automatically selects all check boxes in that column. (You can clear the check boxes for assets that you do not want to add to the Watch list.) Skip to step 3.

2. Repeat step 1 for each asset you want to add to your Watch list.

3. Click Add Checked to Watch List. You will see the selected watch list assets in the Your Watch List page.

How to view asset information

Under Name in the table, click the name of the asset whose information you want to see.

Tips

o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o Use $image\icon_refresh.gif$ (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)

o Select an option from the Jump to list to see more information or actions for the asset. If the asset is muted, you will be restricted to viewing only those pages that do not contain functionality that will result in communications to the muted asset. If the asset is unmuted, all pages to which you have privileges are available. For example, click Available scripts to see a list of all scripts registered for this asset as well as the names of the script authors and descriptions of each script. The options in this list vary from asset to asset.
