Use this wizard to create new asset conditions or modify an existing asset condition selected from the View and manage asset conditions page. For more information on how asset conditions work, refer to Asset Condition definition and Configuring Asset Conditions.
To view conditions for assets, display the Assets by Status module on the home page of the Axeda® Service application or the Asset dashboard for an asset.
Use the tools on this page to create an asset condition or modify an existing asset condition.
Warning! When moving backward and forward through the wizard, use the wizard's Back and Next buttons. Do NOT use your browser's back and forward tools.
1. Type a unique name for the condition, using up to 30 alphanumeric characters. This name is required to create an asset condition.
2. Select a severity level for the asset condition. You can assign only one condition to a severity level; therefore, only severity levels not already assigned to a condition appear in the list for selection. The severity level is required. Keep in mind that the Platform treats 10 as the highest severity level and displays the condition with that severity level first. Conversely, 1 is the lowest severity level and the Platform displays the condition with that severity level last.
3. Select one of the colored ball images to associate with the condition. The image appears in the Status column of pages that list assets, for example in the Axeda® Axeda® Service application home page. You must select an image to create an asset condition.
4. Select one or more of the following triggers to associate with the asset condition: Expand/Collapse Trigger list
5. Click:
Next - Available only if you selected
a trigger, this button displays the next page of the wizard, which depends
on the trigger selected. If you selected Alarms or Data Expressions (or
both), this button takes you to the appropriate page: Assign
alarms to asset condition and/or Assign
data expression to asset condition. If you selected one of the Missing
messages, the wizard displays the Review
Asset Condition Changes page.
Finish - If you are running the
Axeda® Platform
in redundant-gateways mode or if you do not associate a trigger with the
condition, you can save it now by clicking this button. This button exists
to support the advanced
method of setting up asset conditions.
Cancel - To exit the wizard without
creating the condition.
6. Depending
on the trigger selected, this step varies:
If you selected one of the Missing messages, review the condition information
in the Review Asset Condition
Changes page. Click Back to
make any changes. When ready, click Finish
to create the asset condition.
If you selected the Alarms or Data Expression message (or both), configure
the message information in the Assign
alarms to asset condition and/or Assign
data expression to asset condition pages.
1. Type or select the new information to apply to the asset condition.
2. As needed, modify the trigger configuration for the condition, in the Assign alarms to asset condition and/or Assign data expression to asset condition pages.
3. Click Finish to review and save your changes and close the wizard. Click Cancel to discard your changes and exit the wizard.
Note: If you change the information for alarms or data expressions associated with an asset condition, the Platform does not update the condition until after it receives a change in the alarms or data items from the asset. Do not expect to see an immediate change in Status for an asset after changing the definition of a condition. It is possible that new data item values or alarms could cause a change quickly, but you should keep in mind that the condition changes based on information received from assets. If you want to force an edited condition to be unset, configure and run a Change asset condition action.
