Set Asset Condition actions (Category: Enterprise actions) enable you to control the setting and unsetting of asset conditions that do not have associated triggers. More specifically, these actions can force the Platform to write a non-triggered asset condition ("set the condition") or remove a non-triggered asset condition ("unset") for an associated asset.
Refer to the following topics for details about asset conditions:
o "Set" and "Unset" Asset Conditions
o Configuring Asset Conditions
o More information on Set Asset Condition actions
Set Asset Condition actions are comprised of types and conditions. Types identify the action that will be performed; in this case, either setting a condition for an asset or unsetting a condition for an asset. Conditions are the actual condition value to set for the asset, for example, Good, Warning, or Error and the associated color icon.
From this page, you select the action type for this Set Asset Condition action.
1. Select one of the following types:
§ Set Asset Condition - to write the condition to the asset information in the Platform and display it as the current condition. A Set always forces all currently set conditions to be unset in order to set the selected condition. This applies to both triggered and non-triggered conditions. (Although Axeda strongly recommends that you NOT do so, you can create a Set action for a triggered condition.)
§ Unset Asset Condition - to remove the condition from the asset information in the Platform and remove it from display. Although Axeda strongly recommends that you NOT do so, you can create an Unset action for a triggered condition. If you do, keep in mind that an Unset does not always force a change to the selected condition. All the associated triggers for that condition must be false for a condition to be unset by an Unset action. Refer to the topics listed under Need more information? above for details.
2. When you are finished, click Next to select the condition for this action. If you click Cancel and continue canceling, all information configured in this wizard is removed.
o You can view the current statuses for assets in the Assets by Status module on the home page of the Service application. In addition, you can search for assets by specific asset condition (for example, to find all assets in an "Error" condition), using the Search for Assets tool in the Service application home page.
o You can view the summary of current asset conditions by mousing over the Status field on the Asset dashboard. The popup displays the different conditions currently set for the asset. The Status field itself shows only the condition with the highest severity.
o In the Service application, Asset dashboard Rules and Actions modules, you can view and enable or disable the rules and actions configured for a specific asset.
o The Service application, Asset dashboard Audit log module, shows a log of activity for the selected asset, including registration, actions run, alarms acknowledged, statuses, usage value setting, and more. Also, if you have privileges to the Administration application, you can search the Audit Log for asset, Platform, and user activity.
