View and manage scripts

1.       Click Filters to show the filter boxes.

2.       To view all scripts, click Filter without typing any search values. To narrow your search, do the following.

a.       In the box above the Name column, type all or part of the name of the scripts(s) you want to find.

b.       In the box above the Description column, type all or part of the description of the scripts(s) you want to find.

c.       In the box above the Model column, select the model to include in the search.

d.       In the box above the Author column, select the author to include in the search.

3.       Click Filter.

The Axeda® Platform finds all defined scripts that contain the search value(s) defined and shows only those scripts in this table.

 

In the table, select the name of the script you want to view or edit. If necessary you can filter the list of scripts shown to view only those of a specific model. To do this, select a model from the box above the Model column, and click Filter.

You can only select a server-based script; you cannot view and edit scripts installed directly on the asset. Platform-based scripts are shown in linkable blue text; asset-based scripts are shown in black text.

The Script wizard appears when you select a script to view or edit.

 

In the table, for a related script click Registrations.

In the displayed Manage the registrations of script page, select the assets on which to register or unregister this script or, for each asset, you can select to run or cancel the script, or enable or disable its operation on that asset.

 

In the table, for a related script click Publish. If this option is not available, the script has already been published. Note that when you create a script from the Configuration application Script wizard, the script is published automatically.

The script is published immediately for use by other assets of this model and for configuration as a script action to run on an asset.

 

In the table, for a related script click Copy. This option is not available for asset-based scripts (because the script is on the asset, not in the Platform).

In the displayed Script wizard, you type a name for this script and select the model for this script copy. To save a copy to the same model, you must type a new name: to save a copy to a different model, you must select the model for the copy (but you can leave the name as is).

 

In the table, for a related script click Redeploy to All. If this option is not shown, this server-based script is not yet registered on an asset (and you need to click Registrations and register the script first) or this is an asset-based script.

The Choose assets for script page appears in which you can select the assets on which to reregister this script, or select the assets from which you want to remove this script.

 

1.       Select the check box(es) for the script(s) you want to remove. To remove all server-based scripts shown in this page (not the entire table), select the check box in the table heading.

2.       Click Delete. A message appears prompting you to confirm that you want to permanently remove these scripts.

3.       Click OK. The scripts are removed from the table and database.

Note: You cannot delete asset-based scripts.
