Script wizard

Use the pages in the Script wizard to create new script sequence files or edit existing ones. This wizard prompts you for the information required to create a script sequence file. For existing script sequence files, the wizard shows the existing information and properties for that script and permits you to make changes as needed.

Notes: You can edit only those script sequence files that were created through this wizard. If you import a script sequence file, you cannot edit it here.

In general, dynamic scripts (the ones that are created on Axeda® Platform and "registered" to the Agents) should NOT be used with redundant Gateways configuration. The reason is that only one of the redundant Gateways receives the script during registration.

The Script wizard presents the following pages:

o        Script Definition - specify name, description, and destination directory for the scripts.

o        Script files - specify the files to execute for this script.

o        Choose Script Sequence File - select the actual sequence script file from those files selected in the Script files step.

o        Script Confirmation - for the configuration properties specified for the script, save the script to the Platform, or change the properties before saving, or cancel the script configuration altogether. If you want to save the script, you can select to publish it.

Warning! When moving backward and forward through the wizard, use the wizard's Back and Next buttons. Do NOT use your browser's back and forward tools.

Script Definition wizard step

1.       Type a name for the script and optional description. The name is required to create the script and will be shown in the Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications when referencing this script.

2.       Optionally, type the path and name of the directory on the asset to which you want to save this new script. This directory will be relative to the home directory of the Axeda Gateway or Axeda Connector Agent running on the asset where this script is registered.

3.       Click

§         Next to configure or view the script files step.

§         Cancel to discard your changes and exit the wizard.
