Audit

Shows audit message for activities performed by users in the Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications, activities by agents communicating with the Axeda® Platform, and activities triggered by incoming messages from the assets under Platform management.

The audit results are as follows:

o        Date - Date and time when the audit activity took place. The report lists activities in descending order, with most recent activity first. Times are shown in the format specified in the User Preferences. You can sort by date.

o        Category - Identifying category for the audit activity.

o        Description - Detailed information about the related activity; for example, "Removing Asset from AssetGroupx" or "User: jsmith logged in". See a partial list of detail information that may appear for an audit log entry.

o        Server/User - Actual Axeda Applications user who performed the activity, if applicable; this is the user login name defined in the Platform.

o        Asset - Name of the specific asset affected by this activity, if applicable.

Procedure from this page

From this page, you can filter the list of audit activity based on search criteria.

How to filter the Audit report

1.       Click Filters to show the filter boxes if they are not already shown. (When you first open the Audit page, all standard filter boxes are shown.)

2.       To view all audit activity to which you have privileges, click Filter without typing any search values. To narrow your search, do the following.

a.       In the list box above the Category column, select the category of audit activity you want to find.

b.       In the list box above the Server/User column, select the server or user whose activity you want to include in the search.

c.       In the list box above the Asset column, select the name of the asset(s) you want to include in the search.

3.       Click Filter.

The Platform finds all audit activity that contains the search value(s) defined and shows only that activity in this table.

To narrow your search further:

1.       With the filter boxes still displayed, click Advanced to show the advanced filter boxes.

2.       Select the advanced search criteria as follows:

a.       Click Select Users to access the Available Users page for selecting users to include or exclude from the search.

b.       Click Select Categories to access the Available Categories page for selecting which categories of audit information to include or exclude from the search.

c.       Type the start and end dates and times to include in the search. You can click the calendar tool to select dates.

Note: If you do not specify a date range, then a pre-configured date range will be used for the search to ensure that Platform performance is not compromised. This date range is specified by your Platform administrator.

On the other hand, if you specify a date range that is too broad, then the Platform displays a message suggesting a narrower date range for filtering Audit data to improve performance.

3.       Click Filter.

Tips

o        The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o        Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o        Use image\icon_refresh.gif (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)

o        When typing times and dates, apply the format identified per your User Preferences.

o        The Audit Log module of each Asset dashboard in the Axeda® Service application shows audit messages are specific to the selected asset.
