View and remove user groups

The View and remove user groups page shows the user groups configured for Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications. User groups are managed by the primary and Delegated Administration directory services configured for the Platform and can be created from the Administration application (if supported).

Note: Only Administrators or non-admin users with privileges to the Axeda® Administration application can view this page and its information. You must have Administrator privileges to your directory service to modify user properties from the Administration application. Need more information?

The user group created by the Platform for a Delegated Admin Unit (for example, DA_Unit_A_23400_user_group) is visible in this page only if you are logged in as a Delegated Administrator of the DA Unit. To view and manage user groups for a DA Unit, you must log in as a Delegated Administrator of the DA Unit. When logged in this way, you see only the system-created DA Unit user group and other user groups created within the DA Unit.

To edit privileges for the system-created DA user group, it is recommended that you select the DA Unit in the View and remove Delegated Admin Units page, and then select to edit the privileges in the Overview page for the DA Unit.

Procedures from this page

You can view more information for a user group, and you can delete user groups.

To view more information for a user group

Click the name of the user group (in the Name column). The User Group overview page appears, showing additional information for the selected user group.

To delete a user group

The Administration application shows the links that allow removal of user groups only if your Platform administrator configured it to show those links.

1.       Select the check box at the end of the row for each user group you want to delete.

2.       Click Remove Selected User Groups.

3.       When prompted, click OK to confirm the deletion, or Cancel to retain the selected user group(s).

If supported by your directory service, deleting a user group removes it from both the Platform database and the directory service. If you remove a user group in error, you will need to create it again.

Tips

o        You can sort the information in the columns, including the description of the user group.

o        The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o        Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o        Use image\icon_refresh.gif (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
