Note: Only Administrators or non-admin users with Administration application privileges (Delegated Administrators) can view this page and its information.
The Overview for Delegated Admin Unit page shows all the information for the Delegated Admin Unit selected in the View and remove Delegated Admin Units page. The information is shown in three columns. The left column provides the following three modules:
o The Privileges module shows the privileges currently assigned to the Delegated Admin Unit (DA Unit) and also to the user group created for the DA Unit. This module also provides links to view and edit privileges for the DA Unit and its user group.
o The Delegated Administrators module is read-only. Immediately after the DA Unit is created, this module displays only the user name of the Delegated Administrator created when the DA Unit was created. The Delegated Administrator belongs to the user group created by the Platform for the DA Unit. If other users have been added to this user group as Administrators by the Delegated Administrator, their user names appear here as well.
o The Delegated Admin Unit User Group module is also read-only. It displays the name of the user group created automatically for the DA Unit. For complete information about all the user group privileges and their functionality within the Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications, see User Group Privileges in Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications.
The middle column shows the name of the DA Unit and the description entered for the DA Unit. The Edit link opens the page where you can modify the description for the DA Unit (Edit Delegated Admin Unit). If available, the Delete link allows you to remove this DA Unit. If you are logged in as the Delegated Administrator for the DA Unit selected, then the Delete link is not available.
In the right column, the Asset Groups module shows the "root" asset group selected for the Delegated Admin Unit. To change to a different "root" Asset Group for the DA Unit, click the Edit link under the name of the DA Unit in the middle of the page.
Important! When you delete a DA Unit, all objects in the Platform associated with that DA Unit are removed from the Platform. Objects are associated with a DA Unit at creation. If the user who creates the objects is the Delegated Administrator or a non-admin member of the DA Unit, then each object those users create is flagged as being associated with the DA Unit and is NOT visible to other DA Units. For more information about security for objects in a DA Unit, refer to Security for Objects in Delegated Administration Units.
