Axeda® Software Management Home

Axeda Software Management provides a secure and reliable environment in which to configure the transfer of software and related files to and from the assets monitored by Axeda® Platform. This application provides file transfer support for the entire Platform. For example, Upload and Download actions executed from the Asset dashboards of the Axeda® Service application use the capabilities of the Software Management application to perform these actions.

One of the primary uses of the Software Management application is to transfer files between the Axeda Platform and the assets. For file transfers, an asset must support this type of activity and the agent running on the asset must be configured to handle file transfers. For wireless assets, an AWP agent can be configured to support file uploads, file downloads, both, or neither. For wired assets, the Axeda IDM, Axeda Gateway, Axeda Connector, and Axeda Agent Embedded agents support file transfers through Axeda Software Management packages, File Upload and File Download actions, and the File Upload and File Download Tasks in the Tasks module on an Asset dashboard.

$image\sm_icon_createnewpkg.gif$ Create a software package - Shows the Package wizard in which you can create a package for deployment to selected assets.

$image\sm_icon_deploypkgwizard.gif$ Deploy packages to assets over the Internet - Shows the Deployment wizard in which you can create a deployment for a selected package. If you have the appropriate privileges, you can set up automatic deployments as well as manual deployments.

$image\sm_icon_pkgmgr.gif$ View packages that are deployed or in progress - Shows the Package Deployment Manager in which you can view of deployed packages deployed.

$image\sm_icon_viewfilesfromassets.gif$ View files that have been received - Shows a list of all assets that have uploaded files to the server. You can select a specific asset for which you want to view the uploaded files.
