Use the tools in this page to view and remove remote sessions created from the Remote Sessions module of an Asset dashboard in the Axeda® Service. These may be actively connected, completed, or never connected sessions with remote assets running an Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Agent (either through an internal remote access server or an external Axeda® Global Access Server).
You can use the filtering tools to see only selected sessions. For example, you can specify a date range to view only sessions that started and ended in the range.
Notes: For
information about remote sessions with assets running Axeda ® IDM Agents
(through a TotalAccess Server), refer to View TotalAccess Sessions.
For remote desktop sessions, assets running Axeda Connector and gateway
assets running Axeda Gateway should also be running Axeda Desktop Server
or Axeda Access Remote. For gateway assets that are running Axeda Gateway
and Desktop Server, remote desktop sessions can be established with the
assets behind the gateway ("managed" assets) as long as those
managed assets are also running Axeda Desktop Server. Managed assets running
Desktop Server do not need to be running an Axeda Agent.
For each session, the table shows the following information:
o Session Id - Platform-generated ID for this session
o Access Server - Global Access Server used to enable remote communications for this session; if you are viewing this page from the View Global Access Servers page, then this field is automatically prefilled with the name of the Global Access Server for which you selected to view session information. (You can delete the prefilled name and click Filter to view session information for ALL Global Access Servers.)
o User Name - name of the user who created the session
o Asset - asset to which the session connected
o Session Type - type of session (Terminal, Application, Browser, or Desktop),
o Description - description of the session (configured when creating the session),
o Start and End - start and end dates and times for the session. If there is no end date, then the session is still active.
You can sort the information in the columns.
From this page, you can view session information based on filter selections; select to view any log information for a remote terminal session; remove a session from the Platform. Click the title of a procedure to display it; click the title again to hide the procedure.
o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).
o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.
o Use (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
o If you are using one or more Axeda® Global Access Servers (GAS server) for remote sessions and your IT department requires that only one URL be used for remote sessions, you can assign a GAS server to an asset by clicking the Assign Servers link in the Remote Sessions module of the Asset dashboard. Refer to Assigning remote servers to an asset for details. Similarly, you can assign assets to a particular GAS server from the Administration application. Refer to Assigning assets to a remote (GAS) server for details.
