View and manage regions

The View and manage regions page shows all regions located in the database for the search information selected.

Note: In a Platform where Delegated Administration is enabled, the names of regions may contain prefixes. For details, refer to Names of Objects in DA Units.

o Parent - the region for which this region is a direct sub-region; for example, in a three level region of RegionX, RegionY, RegionZ where RegionX is the parent for RegionY and Region Y the parent for RegionZ. The Parent identifies only the region directly above.

Procedures from this page

From this page, you can perform the following tasks on regions. Click the title to display a procedure; click the title again to hide the procedure:

To filter the list of regions

1. Click Filters to show the filter boxes.

2. To view all regions, click Filter without typing any search values. To narrow your search, do the following.

a. In the box above the Name column, type all or part of the name of the region(s) you want to find.

b. In the box above the Description column, type all or part of the description of the region(s) you want to find.

c. In the box above the Parent column, select the parent group to include in the search. The search returns any regions that are sub-regions of the selected parent group.

3. Click Filter. The Platform finds all regions defined in the database that contain the search value(s) defined and shows those regions in this table.

To view more information for a region

Click the region name shown in the table. The Platform locates the information configured for the region and shows the results in the Region wizard pages. You can add or change the information shown for the selected region.

To remove regions from the database

1. Do one of the following to remove regions from the database.

a. Select the check box(es) for all the regions you want to remove and click Remove Selected Regions.

b. To remove all regions in the database, click the check box in the table header and click Remove Selected Regions.

A message appears prompting you to confirm that you want to permanently remove these regions.

2. Click OK. The regions are removed from the table and the database.

Tips

o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o Use $image\icon_refresh.gif$ (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
