View and remove application users

The View and remove applications users page shows all users defined in the "ServiceLinkUsers" group (or other Platform users group, if the name of this default name for the group was changed), or all users shown based on the search filter. Users are listed in alphabetical order based on the user name as it is defined in the Platform.

If your organization is using Delegated Administration, then two directory services are in use, the primary directory service for the Platform and the Delegated Administration LDAP directory service for Delegated Admin users, Delegated Administrators, and DA user groups. All users for the Axeda® Platform must be defined in the ServiceLinkUsers group, either in the primary directory service or in the Delegated Administration directory service. Unless a search filter has been applied to this page, what you see in this page depends on the user name that you used to log in to the applications:

Under User Name, users are shown in alphabetical (ascending) order. You can change how the information in the table is sorted by clicking on a column heading.

From this page, you can search for specific users in the Axeda Platform, select to view more information for a user, and delete users.

To search for users

Under Filter List, in the Search box, type part of the user's name and use the "*" wildcard in place of the remaining portion of the name.

For example, type "s*" to view all users with names beginning with "s". "*" shows all users in the main group (ServiceLinkUsers, by default).

To view more information for a user, including user group information

Under the User Name column, click the name of the user. The Overview for user page appears with the information configured for the user.

Note: Non-administrative users cannot select Administrative users. Consequently, they cannot edit the properties of Administrative users, nor can they change non-administrative users into Administrative users (assuming they have the View Users and Edit Users privileges for the Administration application). To delete users

The Administration application shows the links that allow removal of user accounts only if your Platform administrator configured the Platform to show those links and only if adding, editing, and deleting user information is supported. 1. Select the check box at the end of the row for each user you want to delete.

2. Click Remove Selected Users. A window appears prompting you to confirm this deletion.

3. Click OK. The user is deleted from the Platform and the directory service (if supported).

The Platform prevents you from deleting the user account that you used to log in to the Platform.

Tips

o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o Use $image\icon_refresh.gif$ (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)

Axeda Applications Administrator	All users defined in the ServiceLinkUsers group in the primary directory service and all users defined in the ServiceLinkUsers group in the Delegated Administration directory service.
Non-administrative user in the primary directory service	If you have privileges to view users in the primary directory service, you see all the users in the ServiceLinkUsers group in the primary directory service. If you have privileges to view Delegated Admin Units, you see the users in the ServiceLinkUsers group in the Delegated Administration directory service. The column, Delegated Admin Unit, displays the name of the DA Unit that the user belongs to.
Delegated Administrator	All users defined in your Delegated Admin Unit. The column, Delegated Admin Unit, displays the name of your DA Unit.
