The Asset Groups for User Group table in this page shows all asset groups currently assigned to the user group selected in the View and remove user groups page. The Unassigned Asset Groups table shows the other asset groups that are currently available.
Both tables show the following information for each asset group:
o Name -- the name assigned to this asset group.
o Parent Asset Group -- the fully qualified path name for the Parent Asset Group of this asset group. For example, if the asset group is a default model asset group, the Parent Asset Group is the Default Model Group, and the path shown is /Root Asset Group/Default Model Group.
o Description -- any text entered by a Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications user to describe the asset group.
o Model -- only for default model asset groups, this field shows the model for which the default group was created.
Notes:
You cannot remove the asset group
selected as the "root" asset group for a Delegated Admin Unit
from the user group created automatically for the DA Unit.
Only the asset groups to which you have privileges (that is, assigned
to the user groups to which your login user name belongs) appear in the
tables on this page. If you are logged in as the administrator of the
Platform, you can see all asset groups.
If you are using dynamic group definitions to create asset groups, keep
in mind that you must still control the assignment of asset groups to
user groups MANUALLY. For convenience, you may want to create the Parent
Asset Group for each dynamic group manually and then assign them to user
groups to establish the initial security for dynamically created asset
groups.
All users in the selected user group can view data from all assets in the selected asset groups. In addition, these users can add assets to and remove assets from the selected asset groups. If they have the appropriate privileges to the Axeda® Configuration application, the users in the selected user group can configure rules and actions for the asset groups.
From this page, you can add and remove asset group(s) for this user group. Click the title of a procedure to display; click the title again to hide it:
Select an option from the Jump To list to view or edit other information for this user group. For example, click "Edit User Assignments" to add or remove users for this user group. The Jump To options shown depend upon your security access and privileges in the Applications, and directory service support for modifications from the Applications.
o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).
o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.
o Use (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
