Rules

The Rules page shows all rules configured for the selected asset, and actions associated with each rule. From this page, you can disable rules, re-enable disabled rules, and override parameters set for particular rules.

The following information is shown for each rule:

o        Name - of the rule (as defined in the related asset); image\serviceapp_rules_triggeroverride.gif indicates the rule is overridden for this asset - either the rule is disabled for this asset or parameters for a data expression rule are overridden.

o        Description - optional; description defined for rule.

o        Trigger - description of the type of rule and triggering condition that is evaluated for this rule.

o        Actions - actions that will run when this rule evaluates to True.

o        Enabled - If rule is enabled, when its conditions evaluate to true the actions for those rules run; otherwise, if disabled (no check mark), then the rule is not evaluated.

Disabled rules

When a rule is disabled, the rule is not evaluated and the actions defined for that rule are not executed.

Rules disabled from the Configuration application do not appear in the Axeda® Service application, Asset dashboard, for the related assets; otherwise, rules disabled in this Rules page appear for the asset with the ("Disabled") identifier.

Note: Your ability to create or override rules is protected by security privileges set for your associated user group, in the Administration Application.
