Notes: This action is available
only for assets that are running Axeda IDM Agents. It applies to the assets
of the model(s) selected in the Models for
action page.
This action cannot be executed through expression rules via the ExecuteAction()
action.
Collect Data actions (Category: Enterprise UI actions) enable users of the Axeda® Service application to retrieve values of one or more data items from the Actions module on the Asset dashboards for the assets to which they have privileges. If you selected a single model, this page shows all the data items defined for that model. If you selected more than one model, this page shows only the data items that are defined for all selected models. From this page, you select the data items for this action; you can also remove data items from the action.
When this action is run from an Asset dashboard, the Platform prompts the user to select the data items to collect. Note that a Collect Data action can be run only from the Service application, at the discretion of the Service application operator. This action cannot be associated with business rules.
The tables on this page show the following information for each data item:
o Name - of each data item
o Alias - any alias defined for this data item
o Type - data type for the data item: analog (double format), digital (Boolean format), or string (alphanumeric format).
1. In
the table of Available Data Items, select the data items that you want
to be available for collection in the Service
application. If a data item you want does not appear in this list, you
first need to configure that data item in the Model
wizard page. Alternatively, if you selected more than one model, that
data item may not be defined for all models. Note that data items that
are not configured as visible
will NOT appear for selection in this list.
To select all data items in the table, select the check box in the column
heading.
Notes:
If you selected multiple models, only data items available to all the
selected models appear for selection in this page. For example, if you
select modelA and modelB, only data items available in both modelA and
modelB appear in the list. Data items available in only one of the models
are not shown...In addition, any Read Only, Not Visible, or Not Stored
data items (as defined in the Model
wizard, data items page) do
not appear
in the list of data items.
2. Click Add Checked. (To select all data items to which you have privileges and for the selected models, click Add All.)
3. If you need to remove data items, select the data items in the Selected Data Items table and then select Remove Checked. To remove all selected data items, select Remove All.
When you are finished, click Next to select the user groups with edit permissions for this action or click Finish if you are done modifying this action. If you click Cancel and continue canceling, all information configured in this wizard is removed.
o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).
o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.
o Use (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
