Action wizard - Models for action page

This page appears for Request Data Item, Set Data Item, Alarm, Data Entry, and Collect Data actions only. (For the Run Script and Deploy Package actions, you can select only one model.)

Shows the models to which this asset update or Axeda® Enterprise Server UI action is available. In this page, you can select models to which this action applies, or remove models from that list. For the models to be visible in this page, they must belong to one of the asset groups assigned to the user group(s) that you belong to.

The tables show the following information for each model:

o        Name - of the model

o        Description - of the model, if specified

o        Type - either Managed, Gateway, or Standalone

Notes: If you need to update the Available and Selected lists with current server information, click image\icon_refresh.gif (Refresh link) next to the table controls (do NOT use your browser's Refresh tool).

If you are configuring the Request Data Item action for an asset, select the model of the asset. You do not need to select the model of the tracking device that monitors the asset.

If, while editing an action, you modify the model(s) selected for that action, the action may lose its association with any previously configured rules. In this situation, you need to recreate those action-rule associations. A message warns you of these situations if applicable.

If you are creating a new action, click Next to configure the operation this type of action will perform.

If you are editing an existing action, click Finish if you have completed your changes to this action. If you want to change other configuration settings, click Next. Depending on the type of action, the appropriate page appears. For example, for the Data Entry action, the wizard displays the Select Data Items for Action page.

In either situation, if you click Cancel and then choose OK when prompted, all information entered during this session with the Action wizard is discarded.

Tips

o        The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o        Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o        Use image\icon_refresh.gif (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
