Asset wizard - Asset Groups step

In this step, you assign the asset group(s) to this asset. If you do not see the asset group you want, you may first need to create the asset group using the Axeda® Administration application.

Notes: The list of Available Asset Groups displays only those asset groups to which you have privileges.

If you choose to edit asset information from any of the Asset dashboards, this step of the wizard is NOT available.

If you are using dynamic group definitions to assign assets to asset groups, you can skip this step when adding a new asset; once the dynamic group definition has been applied to assets, you can verify the assignments in this step.

How to configure this asset in asset groups

1.       In the Available Asset Groups list, select the asset group(s) to add for this asset, and click >>. When you select an Asset Group, the fully qualified path name of that group's Parent Asset Group appears below the list. Check the path to ensure that you have the desired asset group.

2.       In the Selected Asset Groups list, select the asset group(s) to remove from this asset, and click <<. When you select an Asset Group, the fully qualified path name of that group's Parent Asset Group appears below the list. Check the path to ensure that you have the desired asset group.

Note: When automatic creation of models and assets is enabled for the Axeda® Platform, an asset group corresponding to the name of the model is automatically created (if it does not yet exist). If automatic creation of models and assets is disabled, every asset is assigned by default to the Root Asset Group until you assign it to another Asset Group manually or until a dynamic group definition runs and assigns the asset to a dynamic asset group.

When you have completed configuring or viewing the asset groups, click Next to configure the asset contacts for this asset.

If you have completed configuring or viewing this asset, click Finish and the Asset Confirmation wizard page appears.

If you click Cancel and continue canceling, all information configured in this wizard is removed and the list of assets (home page of the Configuration application) appears.
