The Asset Contacts page of the Asset wizard shows all contacts assigned to the current asset, and their relationship(s) to the asset. In this step, you can create new contacts for the asset, add existing contacts to the asset, change the relationship of contacts to the asset, and remove contacts from the asset.
Note: A single asset can have one contact with different relationships.
If you have privileges to change the contact information for a specific asset, then, from the Asset dashboard, (Service application), you can select to edit this information for the selected asset; this step of the asset wizard appears. You can make changes to the information configured for this asset and save those changes. After you exit the wizard and return to the Asset dashboard, those changes appear immediately.
The tables in this page show the following for each available or selected contact:
o Contact (Available or Selected) - name of the contact
o Organization - to which the contact belongs
o Title - job title for this contact
o Phone - telephone number for contacting this individual
o E-mail - e-mail address for sending an e-mail message to this individual
o Type - type of relationship this contact has with the related asset; one contact can have multiple relationships with a single asset
From the Asset Contacts step of the asset wizard, you can view the contacts for the asset (and filter the list), and you can add new or existing contacts to the asset and remove contacts from an asset.
Click the title of a procedure to display it; click the title again
to hide the procedure.
After configuring or viewing the asset groups, click Next to configure the gateway parameters for a gateway-managed asset; otherwise, the asset properties step appears.
If you have completed configuring or viewing this asset, click Finish and the Asset Confirmation wizard page appears. If you are editing the asset from an Asset dashboard, the Asset dashboard appears.
If you click Cancel and continue
canceling, all information configured in this wizard is removed. Either
the list of assets (home page
of the Configuration application) appears. or if you are editing the asset
from an the Asset dashboard, the Asset dashboard appears.
If you have privileges to change the organization information for a specific asset, you can select to edit this information for the selected asset in the Asset dashboard of the Service application. The Asset wizard - Organization step appears. You can make changes to the information configured for this asset and then save those changes; those changes appear immediately in the Asset dashboard.
