The User Group Asset Security page lists the modules that can be or currently are associated with this user group - Asset Groups, Regions, Organizations, and Locations. Selecting the modules here will make them available on the User group overview page.
Once the modules are available, you can choose the objects that will define which assets are available to the users of this user group. Through other pages of the Axeda Administration application, you can associate assets and asset groups with regions, organizations, and locations. For assets, you can associate assets with the user group by associating them with the asset groups assigned to the user group. You can associate only one other asset group with an asset group; you do that by selecting a Parent Asset Group when creating an asset group. Refer to Parent Asset Group definition for more information.
Notes:
If you are adding a user group within
a Delegated
Admin Unit (that
is, you are logged in as a member or administrator of the DA Unit), be
aware that Asset Groups, Organizations, Regions, and Locations are secure
so that users see only those within their DA Unit.
If this user group needs to have only privileges to the
Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications,
rather
than asset based-security, leave all object modules "disabled".
For information on creating privilege-based and asset security-based privileges,
refer to the Tips in the Create
User Group page.
In the User Group Asset Security page you can enable or disable asset security based on user group objects. Once you save the changes, users in this user group can access only those assets assigned to "enabled" objects, and if multiple objects are enabled, they can access only those assets in common to all enabled objects. The Platform ignores assets associated with disabled objects when determining user access.
If no objects are enabled, the user group will have no access to assets.
Also, if one or more objects are enabled but those objects have no assigned
assets, then the user group will have no access to assets.

From this page, you can enable and disable objects for asset security for the user group.
1. Select the check boxes ("enable") for those objects that have assigned assets to which this user group needs access.
2. Clear
the check boxes ("disable") for those objects that have assigned
assets to which this user group does not need access.
As you make your selections, keep the following caveats in mind:
§ If you enable multiple objects, only those assets common to all those associated objects will be made available to users in this user group.
§ If you leave all objects disabled, users assigned to this user group cannot access any assets.
3. Click Submit.
If you are creating a
user group, the Store User group
Information page appears. If you are editing a user group, you return
to the User group overview page for the user group. The modules for the
objects that you enabled are active; the modules for the objects that
you disabled are inactive (dimmed).
