Search for assets - User Preferences

The Asset Search tool is available from the Update your Excluded Assets List page. Use the Asset Search tool to find all assets based on search criteria, such as asset name, model number, asset group, asset condition, and so forth. As in all Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications pages, you are restricted to viewing and accessing only those assets to which you have privileges (based on user group settings).

Procedures from this form

From this form, you can search for an asset by specifying the information you know about the asset. If necessary, you can clear or close the form without searching. The form supports multiple levels of filtering. For example, you can view all assets of a specific model, only those assets that are installed at a specified location, only those assets with names beginning with "Dev" installed at a specific location, and so on.

To search for an asset in the Platform

1.       In the displayed popup form, type or select the information identifying the asset you want to find, as follows:

Name: asset name in the Platform.
Serial Number: of the asset.
Model: model name or number for the asset.
Organization: name of organization to which the asset is assigned.
Location: city, state, country for location of the asset's organization.
Asset Group: fully qualified name of an asset group to which the asset is assigned.
Asset Conditions: current status or condition of asset (these asset conditions are created in the Configuration application.

You can use wildcards ("*") to view assets with information that match at least part of a specified filter. For example, to view all assets that have serial numbers starting with "ACME", type the following in the Serial Number box: ACME*. If you type part of a serial number without a wildcard, the Platform shows only assets that match the serial number exactly.

2.       Click Search.  If you leave all filter boxes blank or at their defaults and click Search, the Platform returns all assets in the Platform to which you have privileges.

To close the form without searching

In the Asset Search form, click Cancel, or click Search Criteria again. Any search values you may have typed or selected are ignored.
