Rule Tagging

The Rule Tagging page shows the following information for any previously-created rule tags:

You can create rule tags to capture the current business rule configuration. If you decide to restore the Platform to a previous business rule configuration, the Platform first prompts you to create a rule tag: in this way, you can capture the current configuration before overwriting it with a previous one.

Procedures from this page

From this page, you can create rule tags, delete existing rule tags, restore the rules system to a specific rule tag. Click the title of a procedure to display it; click the title again to hide it:

To create tags

Click Create Tag. The Create a Rule Tag page appears.

To delete tags from the Platform

Do one of the following to remove rule tags from the Platform:

o Select the check box(es) for all the rule tags you want to remove from the Platform and click Remove Selected Tags.

o To remove all rule tags, click the check box in the table header and then click Remove Selected Tags. If there are multiple pages in the table, all rule tags from all pages are removed.

To restore a rule tag

1. Select Restore from the Actions column. The Rule Tag page appears, asking you to select if you want to create a rule tag.

2. Select the check box to create a rule tag with the current snapshot. If you do not select the check box, a new rule tag is not created.

3. Click Next. The Rule Tag : Create page appears.

4. Type a new description in the Rule Tag : Create page.

5. Click Next. The Rule Tag : Confirmation page appears.

6. Review the information shown (that is, the description), and then click Finish to add the Rule tag to the server, or Back if you need to make changes. Cancel discards all the information you entered so that a rule tag is not created.

When this new rule tag is submitted, the server applies the rules and actions captured in the rolled back rule tag.

Tips

o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o Use $image\icon_refresh.gif$ (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
