Note: Axeda® Report requires a separate license. The set of features available to you for Axeda® Report depends on your license. For example, if the Platform is not licensed for it, the Report Studio features and tools are not available. (Contact Axeda Technical Support for more information.) In addition to the license, you must have the appropriate privileges to use the different features. Check with your Platform administrator if you cannot access a feature to which you should have privileges.
The Report Home page displays a list of the reports to which you have access in a table. If you have created any custom reports for your site, the table displays your custom reports as well as the standard reports available with the application. For each report, the table shows the following information:
o Report Name -- the name of the report, which is a link for running the report. If the report is configured to prompt you for parameters, then you will first see the prompt page when you click the name of the report. For example, if you click "Asset Information Report," the prompt page for the page is displayed. You can select a model number, asset group, and organization to use for generating the report. Note that you must enter values for all the required parameters (denoted by an asterisk *) before you can run the report. For details about the standard reports provided with the Platform, ask your Platform administrator for a copy of the Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Report Pack: Standard Reports Reference Guide.
o Report Description - a brief message about the content of the report, typically written by the user who created the report.
o Folder Name - the name of the folder where the report is stored on the computer that is running the Axeda® Platform, Public or Private. All users who have privileges to Axeda Report have their own Private folder for reports. The reports in the Public folder are available to all users who have privileges to Axeda Report. The Actions available for a report depend in part on whether the report is in the Private or Public folder.
o Report Type - the type of report: Ad Hoc query, Job, Report View, or Report. These report types are based on where the report was created. Note that you must have purchased the appropriate licenses to be able to create and manage Ad Hoc Queries and Reports. An Ad Hoc query is created using the Query Studio. A Report is created using the Report Studio. A Report View report is created using the Create View action (which is available only for reports in the Public folder); after creation, report views are stored in the Private folder of the user who created them. A Job is a configured set of reports, report views, and/or other jobs that will be run as a batch; a job can have an associated schedule.
o Actions - the operations that you have privileges to perform on reports. Each action is a link to the page where you can perform the operation. Actions can include Run, Edit, Schedule, Prompts, Delete, Saved Report, and Create View. If you do not see an action that you believe you should be able to use, contact your Platform administrator.
You can filter the list of reports based on the Report Name, Folder name, or Report Type. For example:
o Filter by Report Name - To see only reports with the word "Asset" in the name, type "Asset" in the Report Name search field, and click Filter. The table displays only those reports that include "Asset" in the name.
o Filter by Folder - Select either "Public" or "Private" in the Folder search list and click Filter. If you type "Private," the table displays only those reports in your Private folder.
o Filter by Report Type - Select the type of report you want to see from the Report Type search list and click Filter: Ad Hoc, Job, Report View, or Report.
Any filters you set are maintained during your user session in the Applications, whether you stay in the Report application or move to another application. At any time, click Clear to clear the filtering options and select new ones.
In the columns between Report Type and Actions, the Reports table displays icons that indicate saved setup values (referred to as "Prompts"), an existing schedule for the report, or saved versions of the report:
(Prompts Icon) - If you have already set up default
values for the setup parameters of the report, then you will see the Prompts
icon in the Reports table.
(Clock Icon) - If a schedule already
exists for a report, then you will see a clock icon in the Reports table.
(Saved Versions Icon) - If generated versions
of the report have been saved, you will see the Saved Versions icon in
the Reports table.
The Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Report Pack: Standard Reports Reference Guide contains all the information about the 19 standard reports. This Axeda Applications Help system does NOT provide information about the various reports that may be configured in your Platform. The Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Report Pack: Standard Reports Reference Guide is available from your Platform administrator.
From this page, you can create, reconfigure default values and run options for one run of the report, schedule, edit, delete, and create Ad Hoc queries, reports, report views, and batch Jobs. Platform administrators can also administer ad-hoc security privileges; schedule, set up, delete, and run reports. Keep in mind that the tasks you can perform are limited by the privileges assigned to you by the Platform administrator and also by the licenses that your organization owns for the levels of the Axeda Report software.
To perform any of these tasks, click the appropriate link, as explained in Report navigation tools.
o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).
o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.
o Use
(Refresh
link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest
Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
