Also, your ability to override maintenance counters is controlled by user
group privileges. Contact
your server administrator if you have questions about your privileges.
The Override Current Counter window allows you to override the Current Counter value for a maintenance item. For example, a motor vehicle is scheduled for service every 2000 miles after the initial 1000-mile service. The service Interval is set to 2000. The odometer currently shows 6500 miles (current Counter value). The next service is due at 7000 miles (the Target count). You want the vehicle to be brought in for servicing earlier than scheduled. To do this, you can override the Current Counter value. In this example, you could change the Current Counter value to 6700. This change would move the Target Date in so that the vehicle is serviced earlier than originally scheduled.
CAUTION: Unlike extending a target, overriding targets DOES affect the future service targets. Axeda recommends that only users with administrative privileges be allowed to use this Action.
If you displayed this help topic from the Override Target Values window, start with Step 5 in the following procedure.
1. From the Maintenance home page, search for the asset whose targets you want to extend.
2. In the search results table, click the name of the asset to display its Maintenance Asset dashboard.
3. In the Table of Maintenance Items, locate the line containing the Maintenance Item for which you want to override the current Counter value.
4. From the Actions column, select Override.
5. In the Override Target Values window, you can see the Current value and Current target for the asset. Type a new value for the Current Counter in the New Counter Value field.
6. Optionally, type a reason for the change in the Description field.
7. Click
OK to save the new value and explanation.
Alternatively, click Cancel to
close the window without changing the Current Counter value.
If you click OK, a confirmation
window appears.
8. In the confirmation window, click OK to override the Current Counter value with your value. If you click Cancel in this confirmation window, the Current Counter value is preserved.
9. To verify your changes, check the Audit Log below the table of maintenance items. For a Reset event, the Audit Log includes the following details:
§ Current date and time
§ Maintenance item name
§ Previous Target value
§ Current Target value (the one you just entered)
§ Previous Target date
§ Current Target date (the one you just entered)
