The Events page shows all recent event information specific to the asset. Events can include asset registration, time synchronization, data overflow, failure starting a driver, asset contacts (pings), alarms from the asset, and so forth.
The following information is shown for each event:
Name - of the event (as defined in the asset). For example, if the event is an asset state change, this field displays the name of the monitor followed by the name of the asset state that caused the event. The name of the asset state appears in parentheses. For example, if the monitor name is CPUusage, the asset state name is Warning, it appears this way: CPUusage (Warning).
Date - the date and time that the Agent sent the event to the Platform.
Description - asset-defined description of the event. For example, if the event is an asset state change, this field displays the message that was defined for the event in the project (using Axeda Builder).
From this page, you can filter asset events to show only events that meet selected search criteria.
Click Filters to show the filter boxes, if not shown.
To view all events for the asset, click Filter without typing any search values.
To perform a simple search of the Platform, do one or more of the following and then click Filter:
In the box above the Name column, type the name of the event(s) to include in the search.
In the box above the Description column, type all or part of the description of the event(s) you want to find.
To narrow your search further, click Advanced, do one or more of the following, and then click Filter:
Specify a Start Date - type or use the calendar tool () to select the start date for the search criteria, and then type a beginning time for the start date shown. This is optional: if you do not specify a time, a start time of 12:00 am (or 24:00:00) is applied to the start date.
Specify an End Date - type or use the calendar tool () and select the end date for the search criteria, then type a beginning time for the end date shown. This is optional: if you do not specify a time, an end time of 12:00 am (or 24:00:00) is applied to the end date.
Specify any simple filter criteria (see above).
The Platform finds all asset events that contain the search value(s) defined, and shows only those events in this table.
o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).
o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.
o Use (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
o When typing times and dates, apply the format identified per your User Preferences.
o Use the navigation path to return to a previous page.
o Select
an option from the Jump to
list to see more information or actions for the asset. If
the asset is muted,
you will be restricted to viewing only those pages that do not contain
functionality that will result in communications to the muted asset. If
the asset is unmuted, all pages to which you have privileges are available.
For example, click Available scripts
to see a list of all scripts registered for this asset as well as the
names of the script authors and descriptions of each script. The
options in this list vary from asset to asset.
