Use the tools in this page to create partner contact entries in the Axeda® Platform, and to view and modify an existing partner contact entry selected in the View Partners page.
Note: To create a partner
contact, authenticated login privileges for the partner directory service
must be provided to the directory service. If the authenticated credentials
for the directory service were configured in the Partner
User Store Details (Administration application), then the server provides
those credentials to the directory service automatically; otherwise, you
must provide those credentials in the displayed Authentication Required
page. Need more information?
The message "Invalid directory service administrator user name or
password" appears if the login you enter is incorrect.
The Partner Contact wizard prompts you for each configuration value you need to create a partner contact in the database.
The wizard information for a partner contact is presented as follows:
o Partner Contact Definition - specify the login name, full name, password, e-mail address, and phone and fax numbers for this partner contact.
o Confirm Partner Contact Details - select to create the partner contact with the information defined; otherwise, change the information before saving, or cancel the partner contact altogether.
Warning! When moving backward and forward through the wizard, use the wizard's Back and Next buttons. Do NOT use your browser's back and forward tools.
In this page, you define properties for a new partner contact or edit properties for an existing partner contact.
1. Type the name for the partner contact in the Contact Name field. This name is required for a new partner contact and cannot be modified when editing an existing partner contact. The contact will use this name to log in to the Platform.
Note: User names must be unique in the Platform. If a User Name exists in the Platform (primary, Delegated Administration, or Partner directory services), you cannot add a Contact with the same name.
2. Type the full name (first and last names) of the contact in the Full Name field. This is required for new contacts.
3. Type the password for the partner contact in the Password field. There are no restrictions to the number or types of characters supported, so *, &, %, all numbers, all letters, and so forth can be defined in your password. This is required for new contacts.
4. Type
the password a second time in the Confirm
Password field. This field is required and must match that entered
in the Password field. This is required for new contacts.
Note: Remember that the password
will be case-sensitive, so if you type a new password of "MyPassWord"
you will need to type the same uppercase and lowercase letters each time
you use that password.
5. Type the e-mail address for the partner contact in the E-mail Address field. This address is required for a new partner contact. Use valid e-mail address syntax (for example, user@company.com).
6. Type the phone and fax numbers for this partner contact in the corresponding fields. These numbers are optional when creating a new partner contact. There are no syntax requirements dictating how the number should be typed.
7. If this contact should be able to log in to the Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications without providing a session login code, select Privileged.
8. When you are finished, click Next to confirm the information configured for this contact. If you click Cancel and continue canceling, all information configured in this wizard is removed.
