Report Administration

Use the Report Administration tools to configure Axeda Report and Axeda Dashboard users and their abilities within those applications. Also, from Report Administration you manage report, content, and portal configuration.

The table in this page shows all reports configured for this Platform; not all reports are accessible by all users. The ability for a user to see reports configured in the server depends on the privileges of that user, as well as whether the report was created in a folder to which you have access. (All users who have privileges to Axeda Report have their own Private folder for reports. Only those users or administrators can access reports in those folders. In addition, the Public folder contains reports that are available to all users who have privileges to Axeda Report.)

Procedures from this page

From this page, you can configure the report user groups for selected reports, delete selected reports, and use the Report administration tools. Click the title of a procedure to display it; click the title again to hide the procedure:

To display help for each Report tool or page

The Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Help does NOT explain all the procedures for the Axeda Administration application - Report tool. Refer to the Help links available from each page for complete information about the functionality relevant to the open page.

To configure user groups for selected reports

For a specific report listed in the table, under the Actions column select Reports User Groups. In the displayed page configure the user group permissions for the report. Use the Help link in that page for more information.

To delete selected reports

1. For a specific report, under the Actions column select Delete. A window appears prompting you to confirm this deletion.

2. Click OK. The page will refresh and the deleted report will no longer appear in the list.

To use the Report Administration tools

1. From the Report Admin Tools module, select the tool you want to use, as follows:

Reports - Shows all reports configured in the server and available for your use. You can configure the reports user groups for selected reports, as well as delete the report from the Platform.
Named User List [Report Studio] - Use to specify the Named Users configured for Report Studio
Named User List [Query Studio] - Shows Named Users configured for Query Studio
Named User List [Report Web Admin] - Shows Named Users configured for Report Web Administration
Report Directory - Use to specify the various directories and configurations for reporting; for example, you can configure the printers for the Platform, the report run options, view and create data sources for reports, and more.
Capabilities - Use to set and customize the properties for various secured functions, such as Administration and Query Studio, and secured features, such as User Defined SQL and Bursting. Content Manager reads the users' permissions at logon time. Depending on the permissions, you can access specific tools, such as Directory, Deployment, Query Studio, or Report Studio, and perform specific actions, such as creating new reports or changing the SQL statements.
Report Server - Use to manage, monitor, and tune dispatchers and services.
Content Administration - configure and manage the content store, including updating the Platform with a new Axeda Report pack. You can view runtime information about dispatchers and services, and the hierarchical structure of configuration folders, dispatchers, and services.

Note: Content Administration is accessible to the Report Web Administrator named user only.

Dashboard Administration - Use to configure and manage Axeda Dashboard portal and portal objects, including portlets and styles.

2. In the displayed page, configure the information as prompted. Use the Help link in the displayed pages for more information.

Tips

o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).

o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.

o Use $image\icon_refresh.gif$ (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
