Important: If the asset is muted, you will be not able to view this page. This page will be available again once the asset is unmuted.
The Actions page shows all actions that you can perform immediately on the asset the next time it contacts the Platform. (Use the Configuration application, action configuration pages, if you want to create additional actions.) For example, if there is an action that sets the ping rate of the asset to 5 minutes, this page shows that action; you can select the action to queue it for execution when the asset next contacts the Platform. (As opposed to actions configured for business rules, these are executed immediately and are not dependent on business logic.)
The following information is shown for each action, in both the Selected Action and Queued Actions tables:
o Name - name of the action (as configured in the Configuration application, action configuration pages).
o Description - description of the action; for File Transfer actions performing transfers of multiple files, this shows the name of each file as it is transferred.
o Summary - type of action and applicable properties set for this type of action; for example, for a Set Ping Rate action, this shows the number of minutes to set as the ping rate for this asset; for an Upload file action, this shows the name of the file to upload.
From this page, you can run an action on the asset, as follows:
1. From the Name column, select the action to perform. All asset- or Software Management-based actions configured for this asset (or asset's model) appear for selection.
2. In the displayed dialog box, review the information shown and select Execute to start the action on the asset or Cancel, if you do not want to execute the action.
3. When you select to execute an action, it is added to the Recent Actions module.
4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each action you want to execute for this asset.
o The maximum number of rows supported for returning Platform search results for this type of table is defined in your user preferences, Items Per Page setting (Long table or Short table).
o Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table.
o Use (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Browser Refresh tools do not update the table.)
o Select an option from the Jump to list to see more information or actions for the asset. If the asset is muted, you will be restricted to viewing only those pages that do not contain functionality that will result in communications to the muted asset. If the asset is unmuted, all pages to which you have privileges are available. For example, click Available scripts to see a list of all scripts registered for this asset as well as the names of the script authors and descriptions of each script. The options in this list vary from asset to asset.
