Registering a script on an asset is the process of downloading all files for a script (sequence and asset scripts) from the Axeda® Platform to that asset. An Axeda® Gateway or Axeda® Connector Agent cannot run a script until it has been registered on that asset (or was installed directly on the asset), in one of the following ways:
o Downloaded from a package.
o When selected directly for registration from the Manage Script Registration page in the Configuration application.
o Automatically when created in the Script manager wizard from the Configuration application or Service application Asset dashboard, Scripts page.
Scripts can be installed directly on the asset, as part of Agent installation. These scripts are automatically registered when the Agent registers its scripts with the Platform.
When an Agent first comes online to the Platform, it registers its scripts. The Platform overwrites its script information for the asset with the new information. In this manner, script registration ensures the Platform reflects accurate script information for the related asset. In addition, scripts can be registered (and unregistered) by a Software Management package instruction or by an Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications user (from the Scripts page in the Axeda® Service application).
