By default, the middle of the Asset dashboard page shows a summary of information about the asset. Included in this information are the date and time that the asset last contacted the Axeda® Platform. This information is collected by a scheduled task that runs on the Platform. If the date and time shown for an asset do not look correct, then click the name of the asset in the navigation path at the top of the Asset dashboard or the name of the asset in the middle of the page to refresh the page.
This procedure inserts only newer dates for the Last Contact Date. When the Axeda Platform is running in redundant-gateways mode, the condition for changing the Last Contact Date and Time means that the Last Contact Time cannot be set back in time if a second Gateway that is managing the same asset tries to update the date and has a slightly different time setting. See also the Asset dashboard topic.
For devices that communicate with the Axeda Platform through an Axeda Codec Server (ACS), the Last Contact Date is updated when the ACS contacts the Platform on behalf of the device. It is the responsibility of the codec developer for the devices to use appropriate methods to update the Last Contact Date and time for these devices. Refer to the Axeda® Codec Developer's Kit Guide for more information.
Important: If the asset is muted, the Last Contact date is not updated.
