Gateway wizard - Gateway Contacts step

Shows all contacts assigned to the current gateway asset, and their relationship(s) to the gateway asset. In this step, you can create new contacts for the gateway asset and add existing contacts to the gateway asset. You can select to have all contacts configured for this gateway also assigned as contacts to all assets managed by this gateway (through Gateway provisioning).

Modifying contacts from Axeda® Service

If you have privileges to change the contact information for a specific gateway asset, you can select to edit this information for the selected gateway asset in the Service Application's Asset dashboard, - Tasks module, Edit link. The Gateway wizard - Asset Contacts step appears. You can make changes to the information configured for this gateway asset and then save those changes; those changes appear immediately in the asset information.

The tables in this page show the following for each contact available for adding to this gateway asset or selected for this contact:

o        Contact (Available or Selected) - name of the contact

o        Organization - company or organization to which the contact belongs

o        Job Title - job title for this contact

o        Phone - telephone number for contacting this individual

o        E-mail - e-mail address for sending an e-mail message to this individual

o        Type - type of relationship this contact has with this gateway asset; one contact can have multiple relationships with a single asset

How to select the contacts for this gateway asset

1.       To add contacts to the gateway asset:

From the table of available contacts, select the relationship type for each contact you want to add to this gateway asset.

Click Add Contacts.

The table of selected contacts shows all contacts you added with the selected relationship.

2.       To remove contacts from the gateway asset:

In the table of selected contacts, select the check box(es) for all the contacts you want to remove from this gateway asset.

Click Remove Contacts.

The table of available contacts shows all contacts you removed; the relationship assignment is removed.

3.       If the contacts specified for this gateway should also be assigned to this gateway's managed assets, select the Set these contacts for all managed assets check box. (If needed, you can override these default contact settings for selected assets managed by this gateway.)

How to filter display of contacts

1.       In the Organization box, select the organization with which the contact(s) you want to find are associated.

2.       Click Filter. The table of available contacts shows refreshes to show only contacts associated with the selected organization.

How to create a contact

1.       Above the table, click New Contact.

2.       In the Create or edit a contact page, create the contact as prompted and click Create.

The Asset Contacts wizard step reappears with the new contact shown in the list of available contacts, if the filter includes that contact's organization.

 

When you are finished configuring or viewing the contacts, click Next to configure the asset properties for this gateway asset.

If you are all done configuring or viewing this gateway asset, click Finish and the gateway asset confirmation wizard page appears (or the Axeda Service application, if you are editing the asset from the Asset dashboard, - Tasks module, Edit link.

If you click Cancel and continue canceling, all information configured in this wizard is removed and a list of all gateway assets appears (or the Axeda Service application, if you are editing the asset from the Asset dashboard, - Tasks module, Edit link.
 

Tip

If you have privileges to change the organization information for this gateway asset, you can select to edit this information for this asset in the Service Application's Asset dashboard, - Tasks module, Edit link. The Gateway wizard - Organization step appears. You can make changes to the information configured for this gateway asset and then save those changes; those changes appear immediately in the asset information.
