Custom Components

The Custom Components page displays a list of the custom components added to the application. The information for these components includes the following:

o        Component Name - The name you assigned to the component upon adding it

o        Component Alias - The name you assigned to the component for use in the displays

o        Description - The description you typed upon adding the component

o        Actions - Edit (modify the custom component definition) and Delete (remove the custom component from the application

The custom components in this list are available for use in packages. You can view a summary of information about each component and edit and delete components from this page.

From this page, you can filter the list of custom components; view details for a custom component; modify a custom component; and delete a custom component.

How to filter the list of custom components

1.       Click Filters to show the filter boxes, if not shown.

2.       To view all custom components, click Filter without typing any search values.

3.       To perform a search of the server, do one or more of the following and then click Filter:

a.       In the box above the Component Name column, type all or part of the name of the custom component(s) you want to find.

b.       In the box above the Component Alias column, type all or part of the alias of the custom component(s) you want to find.

c.       In the box above the Description column, type all or part of the description of the custom component(s) you want to find.

The Axeda® Enterprise Server finds all custom components defined in the database that contain the search value(s) defined and shows only those components in this table.

How to view details of a custom component

Click the name in the Component column. The Custom Component tab appears in the lower half of this page.

How to edit a custom component

In the Actions column for the set you want to change, click Edit. The application invokes the Custom Component wizard, using the information defined for the component. For details on using the wizard, see New | Custom Component or Edit | Custom Component.

How to delete a custom component

In the Actions column for the component you want to remove, click Delete. The application requests you to confirm the deletion and after you confirm it, removes the custom component from the list.

Tip

Use the table navigation tools to view different pages and information in the table. Use image\icon_refresh.gif (Refresh link) beside the table navigation tools to refresh the page with the latest Platform results. (Do NOT use your browser's Refresh tools.)
