Administration Application privileges

The following table lists all the privileges associated with the Axeda® Administration application and explains what granting the privilege enables the user to do and what element (s) of the user interface is (are) affected by the privilege. If other privileges are required for any activity in addition to the one described, they are listed under "Other Requirements or Considerations."

Notes:
Non-admin users must have the Administration - View privilege to perform any activity in the Administration application. For example, if you grant the Administration - Asset Groups - View privilege without granting the Administration - View privilege, the users cannot even see the Administration tab and consequently, cannot view Asset Groups.

For Delegated Administrators to be able to view, add, or edit sub-Delegated Admin Units, they must have not only the privileges to View and Edit Delegated Admin Units but also the privileges to View and Edit Users and to View and Edit User Groups.

These privileges control the respective actions through not only the pages of the application but also through the Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Web Services.

This Privilege	Allows users to
Administration - Asset Groups and Dynamic Groups - Add	Add an asset group or a dynamic group in the Administration application. This privilege controls the display of the Asset Group and Dynamic Group options in the New menu. Administration - Asset Groups and Dynamic Groups - Delete	Delete an asset group or a dynamic group in the Administration application. This privilege controls the display of the Delete action link in the "View asset groups configured in the server" page and in the "View and manage dynamic groups" page. Administration - Asset Groups and Dynamic Groups - Edit	Edit asset groups and dynamic group definitions in the Administration application; controls the ability to select an asset group to edit from the "View asset groups configured in the Server" page and the ability to select a dynamic group to edit from the "View and manage dynamic groups" page. Administration - Asset Groups and Dynamic Groups - View	View asset groups and dynamic groups in the Administration application. This privilege controls the display of the Asset Groups and Dynamic Groups selections on the View menu. Administration - Custom Application - Delete	Delete previously-uploaded custom applications. This privilege controls the display of the Delete Selected button in the View and manage custom applications page of the Administration application (System menu). Administration - Custom Application - Modify	Update previously-uploaded custom applications. This privilege controls the ability to select a previously uploaded custom application from the table in the View and manage custom applications page of the Administration application (System menu) and make and save changes. Administration - Custom Application - Upload	Upload custom Web applications. This privilege controls display of the Custom Application item in the Administration application - System menu. Administration - Custom Application - View	View previously-uploaded custom applications. This privilege controls the display of the Custom Applications selection on the System menu of the Administration application. Other Requirements or Considerations Administration - View privilege
Administration - User Groups - Delete	Delete a user group in the Administration application. This privilege controls the display of the delete check boxes and Remove Selected User Groups button in the "View and remove user groups" page. Hierarchies: User Groups > Users Root Asset Group > Asset Groups > Assets and/or Gateway - Organizations and Locations Asset Groups can be assigned to User Groups and vice versa. Administration - User Groups - Edit	Add or edit Axeda Platform user groups in the Administration application; controls the ability to select a user group to edit from the "View and remove user groups" page. This privilege controls the display of the User Group selection on the New menu of the Administration application. Administration - Delegated Admin Unit - Delete	Delete Delegated Admin Units in the Administration application. This privilege controls the display of the delete check boxes and the Remove button in the "View and remove Delegated Admin Units " page. It also controls the display of the Delete link in the Delegated Admin Unit overview page. Administration - Delegated Admin Unit - Edit	Edit Delegated Admin Units in the Administration application; controls the ability to select a Delegated Admin Unit to edit from the "View and Remove Delegated Admin Units " page and the availability of the Edit links in the Delegated Admin Unit overview page. Administration - Delegated Admin Unit - View	View Delegated Admin Units in the Administration application. This privilege controls the display of the Delegated Admin Units selection on the View menu of the Administration application. Administration - View	View the Administration application. This privilege controls the display of the Administration tab. Without this privilege, users cannot access any page in the Administration application.
view - extended- tab - 1	Required to grant access to and view Custom Application tab 1. This privilege is assigned to a Custom Application that makes use of Extended Tab mode. Only one view - extended - tab privilege can be assigned to each Extended Tab, and only five Extended tabs may be in use at one time.
