External Credentials - User Groups that handle view permissions

Important! A credential MUST be associated with one or more user groups, or the credential will only be viewable by the user who created the credential. See External Credentials Overview for more information on user group privileges for external credentials.

The User Group Configuration column of the View and manage External Credentials table includes a User Group View Permissions link for setting up User Groups that handle view permissions configuration for a specific credential. Users who belong to the User Groups in the View list for a credential can read the contents of the credential, and the credential will appear in their searches.

To assign User Groups that handle View Permissions

Click the User Group View Permissions link in the User Group Configuration column for a specific credential. The User groups that handle view permissions page appears.

Filter the list of user groups

1. Click Filters to show the filter boxes, if shown. (If Filters link is not shown, then skip to step 2.)

2. To view all user groups to which you have privileges, click the Filter button without typing any search values.
Otherwise, to narrow your search, do the following:

a. In the box above the Name column, type all or part of the name of the user group(s) you want to find.

b. Click Filter.

Select user groups for this credential

1. In the table of Available User Groups, select the check box of the user groups whose users should be able to view this credential. To select all user groups currently displayed in the table, select the check box in the column heading.

2. Click Add Checked. (To select all user groups to which you have privileges, click Add All.)

The user groups are added to the Selected User Groups table.

Remove user groups for this credential

1. In the table of Selected User Groups, select the check box of the user group(s) whose users should not be able to view this credential. To select all user groups currently displayed in the table, select the check box in the column heading.

2. Click Remove Checked. (To remove all user groups shown, click Remove All.)

Note: If you need to update the Available and Selected lists with current Platform information, click $image\icon_refresh.gif$ (Refresh link) next to the table controls (do NOT use your browser's Refresh tool).
