Object Security for Software Management Deployments in DA Units

The following table lists the types of users in a Platform configured for Delegated Administration and describes their access to Deployments:

User

Access

Principal Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Administrator

Access to ALL Package Deployments in the Platform. When selecting assets for Deployments, access to all assets in the Platform.

Non administrator with correct privileges

In the Software Management application, with appropriate privileges, user can view, create, modify, and delete Package Deployments. However, the assets available when selecting assets for a Deployment depend on the assignment of asset groups to user groups. If this user does not have access to a certain asset, the asset is not available to select for deployment.

1st level DA (DA1)

2nd level DA (DA11)

Another DA user within same DA as DA1

DA users can access the deployments they or other users in their DA Unit create. DA users can also access deployments for packages to which their user groups have been granted the privilege to deploy. For example, if a Principal user creates a package and selects a user group of DA1 to be able to view, edit, and deploy the package, the DA users in that user group in DA1 can view and edit the deployment as well as the package. These users must have the appropriate privileges to the Software Management application to perform these operations.

Users in the first and second level DA Units can see Package Deployments created in child DA Units of their DA Unit as long as they belong to user groups selected for deploying packages.
