The following table lists the types of users in a Platform configured for Delegated Administration and describes their access to Data Item Groups and Data Items:
User |
Access |
Principal Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications Administrator |
Access to ALL Data Item groups and Data Items in the Platform. |
Non administrator with correct privileges |
In Configuration Application -> Data Items -> View and Edit, assuming correct user group privileges. Access to Data Items that this user created AND to Data Items associated with accessible assets. Example 1: if this user has access to asset 1 and Data Item AD1, this user can view and edit Data Item AD1 from the Configuration application. Example 2: if this user creates Data Item DI2, this user can view and edit DI2 in the Configuration application. Example 3: if the Platform administrator (Principal) creates data items, this user can see only the data items for the models/assets to which this user has access. In the Axeda® Service Application, this user can see all Data Items for each accessible asset. If Data Items are assigned to Data Item groups and those Data Item Groups are assigned to user groups, then the privileges to Data Items and Data Item Groups are also restricted by the user group assignments. |
1st level DA user (DA1) 2nd level DA user (DA1-1) Another DA user within same DA as DA1 |
Same as Non-admin, with correct privileges. The only way a DA user can see a Data Item created by a child-DA user is if the DA user has access to the child-DA's asset. A DA user in DA1 cannot see Data Items created by a DA user in another DA at the same level (say DA2) unless for some reason the user in DA1 has access to assets in DA2. |
