Package Wizard - Rollback Instructions

Use the Rollback Instructions page of the Package wizard to define what actions an Axeda® Gateway or Axeda® Connector Agent will perform if it encounters an error while running the package on the asset. Rollback instructions are optional. In general, the rollback instructions are the same as those for package instructions.

Note: AWP Agents, Axeda Agent Embedded, and Axeda IDM Agents do NOT support rollback instructions. For complete information about the features of packages supported by agents, refer to Package Features Supported by Axeda Agents.

From this page, you can select the actions that you want the Axeda Gateway or Axeda Connector Agent to perform if it encounters an error while processing the package. To display a procedure, click the title; click the title again to hide the procedure:

To define instructions

1. From the list, select an instruction. This list contains standard instructions (that is, they are supplied as part of the application), named instruction sets that you have defined in the application, and custom components that you have added to the application.

Note: You can select to define a new custom component from this page. When you are ready to return to this page, click Cancel to return without adding the new custom component or Finish to add the new custom component and return to this page. If you chose to add the custom component, its display name appears in the list of instructions so that you can select it.

2. Depending on the type of instruction, you may need to configure additional parameters.

3. If you selected an instruction that launches a new page, click Next (or Cancel) in that page to return to the Step 4 Rollback Instructions page.

4. Click Add. The instruction appears in the display in the lower portion of the page.

Note: To change the parameters of an instruction that you have added, you must first select the check box for the instruction in the list, and then click Remove Checked. Then, you must add the instruction again.

5. Click Next to select the user groups who will be able to view and deploy and/or modify and delete this package, or Finish if you are finished configuring this package. (Finish displays the Package confirmation page.)

To reorder the list of instructions

In the table of defined instructions, do the following:

§ Click the $image\userprefs_uppointer.gif$ to move an instruction up one position in the list of instructions

§ Click the $image\userprefs_downpointer.gif$ to move an instruction down one position in the list of instructions

Repeat step 1 until the list of instructions is in the correct order, where the package will execute the rollback instructions in order, starting at the top of the list.
Click Next to select the user groups who will be able to view and deploy and/or modify and delete this package, or Finish if you are finished configuring this package. (Finish displays the Package confirmation page.)

To delete instructions

From the list of defined instructions in the lower part of the window, select the check box for the instruction you want to delete.
Click Remove Checked. You will need to recreate the instruction, if necessary.
Click Next to select the user groups who will be able to view and deploy and/or modify and delete this package, or Finish if you are finished configuring this package. (Finish displays the Package confirmation page.)
