Package Wizard - Privileges

Use the Privileges page to select the user groups who can view and deploy packages and the user groups who can also delete packages. As in other applications, Axeda® Software Management application presents a list on the left of all the user groups defined in the directory server database. Using the move buttons in the center of the page, you can add or remove user groups from the two lists.

For example, you may want to assign the ServiceLinkAdmins group the privilege of deleting packages in addition to the view and deploy privileges.

Procedures from this page

From this page, you can select the user groups who will be able to view, deploy, and delete this package. Remember that the user groups must also have permissions to the asset model and assets to be able to deploy this package.

To define privileges

1.       Under Available User Groups, select the name of a user group. This list is filtered by user group privileges. If you do not choose a group, only the user who creates the package can view, deploy, or delete it.

Note: If you do not add any user groups to a package privilege, only you (logged in user) and the system administrator will have that privilege.

2.       To add the user group to the list of user groups who can view and deploy this package, click the >> button next to the View / Deploy Privilege list. To add the user group to the list of user groups who can delete this package, click the >> button next to the Delete Privilege list.

3.       Repeat steps 1 and 2 for every user group you want to grant the privileges.

4.       When done, click Next to save your changes and display the last page of the wizard, Step 6, Confirm.
