Wait Instruction: Wait for Conditions

Note: AWP Agents and Axeda IDM Agents do not support the Wait Instruction. The AWP Agents support two types of package instructions only: downloading files to the agent and uploading files from the agent. The IDM Agents support downloading and uploading files as well; if the package is a SoftwareDirector type of package, the Execute instruction is also supported by the IDM Agents. The AWP and IDM Agents ignore any other instructions defined in a package.

When you select to create a package that runs on a "Wait for Conditions" Instruction, you configure the Data Item conditions for the instruction in this page.

In this page you configure the Data Item dependencies that the agent will wait for before processing the next instruction in the package.

Procedures from this page

From this page, you can configure the Wait Condition for the related Instruction.

To configure the Wait Condition instruction

1.       From the list, select the condition to wait on: Data Item.

2.       Create the data item dependency condition to wait for by selecting a data item, an expression operator, and the comparison value. For example, you can create a data item dependency that causes the agent to wait until "dataItemA > 10".

Note: Data items can be configured such that the Axeda Platform does NOT store them. Even though they are not stored, these data items are still visible in this page because the Axeda Gateway or Axeda Connector Agent runs the package and has all the data items, even if the Platform does not store them.

3.       When finished, select Add.

4.       Create additional data item dependencies as needed. Select Add for each new dependency you create. If you need to remove any of the dependencies, select the check box for each dependency to remove and select Remove Checked.

5.       When finished, select Next.

The Package Instructions page reappears, with a timeout value that you need to specify for the defined Data Item Dependencies.
