To see the Select Deployment Type page, you must have the appropriate privilege and you must be configuring a deployment for a model that is running Axeda Gateway, Axeda Connector, Axeda Agent Embedded, or Axeda IDM Agents. AWP agents do not support automatic deployment, so this page does not appear if the package is associated with a model running an AWP agent. Consult your Platform administrator if you do not see it and believe you should.
For complete information about the features of packages supported by agents, refer to Package Features Supported by Axeda Agents.
Besides selecting
a deployment type, this page includes a Force Redelivery
override option. You can enable or disable redelivery of a deployment
by checking/unchecking the box for Force Redelivery. By enabling (checking
the box for) Force Redelivery, you are specifying an override, so that
the deployment is sent to eligible assets regardless of whether or not
they received the package in the past. By disabling redelivery (unchecking
the box), you are ensuring that the deployment is successfully sent only
once to any given asset. This means that when a deployment with redelivery
disabled is sent, assets that have already received the package through
another deployment will not receive the package again, and their status
will be set to Skipped to indicate
that the new deployment will not be attempted on those assets (you can
view deployed package statuses
on the Package Deployment Manager
page).
When you choose a manual deployment, this box is checked by default to
enable redelivery. If you choose an automatic deployment, then this
box is unchecked by default, ensuring that the package is sent only once
to any given asset.
In this page you select the type of deployment as follows:
1. If
you want the Platform to determine which assets are online at the scheduled
time for the deployment and then deploy the package, then select Automatic Deployment.
If you want to select the assets to which the package should be deployed,
then select Manual Deployment.
2. Select the priority for the deployment. The default priority is 50, on a scale from 1 (highest priority) to 100 (lowest priority).
3. To enable/disable Force Redelivery, check/uncheck the box for Force Redelivery.
4. Click Next to select routing criteria and set the schedule for the automatic deployment.
