Deployment wizard - Schedule

In the Schedule page of the Deployment wizard, you specify when you want the package to be deployed, immediately or at a later time. You can also select an expiration time.  Note that the scheduled deploy time is based on the time zone in which the asset is located, and the expiration time is based on the server time zone.

Note: The AWP agent does NOT support deferred deployments. The package is deployed immediately.

This page provides the following options for Manual and Automatic Deployments:

1.       Select a schedule option. The scheduled deployment time defines when the package is installed on the asset(s) by the agent. Select one of the following options:

§        Immediate deployment to deploy the package upon the asset's next contact.

§        Later deployment to specify a date and time for deployment. Type the date and time for the deployment.

2.       For Manual Deployments only -- if you have selected multiple assets for the deployment, select an Interval for the Platform to wait between deployments to each of the assets; select from the list: 1 Minute (default), 5 Minutes, 15 Minutes, 30 Minutes, 1 Hour, or 2 Hours.

For Automatic Deployments, deployments are sent to assets, depending on the availability of the bandwidth at the time of deployment.

3.       Select an Expiration option. The expiration options change depending on the package for the deployment. Note that the expiration time defines the latest date that the package can be delivered to the agent from the Platform, so this time may be set earlier than the scheduled deployment time.

Select one of the following options:

§         If the package you chose for the deployment does not have an expiration date, then the following option is available: The deployment never expires.

§         If the package you chose for the deployment has an expiration date, then the expiration date is noted, and the following option is available: Use the package expiration time.

§         Whether or not the package you chose has an expiration date, you have the option to define an expiration date for the deployment by selecting Expire the deployment.

4.       If you select Expire the deployment, enter a Date and Time for the expiration.

5.       Click Next to specify the notifications and users to notify about the package deployment status, or click Finish if you do not want to create any notifications for this package deployment.
