Use this form to configure an e-mail message containing asset details for the asset you are viewing in the Asset dashboard. This utility can be useful when you want to include other knowledgeable personnel in the diagnosis of a problem.
1. Complete the e-mail message fields as follows:
§ From - (not editable) shows the name of the logged in user sending this e-mail. You cannot edit this value.
§ Users list - names of Platform users to whom this e-mail will be sent. This list shows all users configured in directory service for this Platform. (Leave blank if there is no directory service user for this e-mail.) You can send this e-mail message to multiple users. Select each user from the list and click Add user. The selected users for the e-mail appear in the User(s) list.
§ User Groups list - names of Platform user groups. This list shows all user groups configured in the Platform. (Leave blank if there is no user group for this e-mail.) You can send this e-mail message to multiple user groups. Select each user group from the list and click Add user group. The selected user groups for the e-mail appear in the User Group(s) list.
§ Addresses - e-mail addresses for one or more individuals to whom this e-mail will be sent. Type each e-mail address. If you are sending the message to more than one address, separate the addresses with commas. Make sure to use valid e-mail addresses (for example, name@company.com).
§ Subject - the subject (title) of the e-mail message. This value is required for the e-mail message.
§ Message - the message body for this
e-mail message; add your message here. By default, the Platform adds a
link to this asset (Asset dashboard) in the message.
2. Click Send when the message is complete. If you click Cancel, the e-mail will not be sent; any information configured for the e-mail message is removed.
