Types of Case searches

In the Case application, you can search for cases defined in the Axeda® Platform based on your user privileges. To search for cases, you specify the values in the cases you want to locate. For example, you can select to search for all "Critical" cases for "ACME Corporation" which are "Awaiting investigation" (Priority, Customer, and Status values, respectively). When you select Search, the server will display all cases that have the selected values and to which you have privileges (based on asset privileges). Advanced Case Details provide additional values by which you can search for cases. (By default the Advanced Case Details values are closed; selecting that heading opens the details for use.)

Using the Edit Saved Search or New Saved Search, Administrators or non-administrators with the appropriate privileges, can save search criteria for reuse, select a saved search to run, and set a search as the default view for the page. For example, you may want to save the search criteria in the previous example if it is a search you use frequently.

In addition, only Administrators can save searches solely for their own use (private searches) or for use by others (public searches). The ability for others to view Public searches depends on their user group privileges. Only the user who created a search, or an administrator, can view and run a Private search; all Applications users can view and run a Public search.

If you set a default search for the page, then each time you open the Case Search page, the server will search for cases that correspond to the values defined in the default search and display those cases in the table.

If you do not find the saved search you expect from the Saved Search list, it may be that search does not exist or that you do not have rights to that search.
