Axeda® Platform SDK and Web services

Using the Axeda Platform SDK, a developer can customize the Platform to service the requirements of your organization. For complete information about this SDK, refer to the Axeda® Platform API Developer's Guide.

Using Axeda Platform Web services (API), a developer can provide information to and request information from Axeda Platform. For complete information about Platform Web services, refer to the Axeda® Platform Web Services Developer's Reference Guide.

Note: Throughout the Axeda Platform SDK and Web services, the term "Device" refers to the item, asset, or equipment managed by Axeda Platform. For Platform releases after version 5.3, the term "asset" replaces the term "device" and the term "Configuration application" replaces the term "Device application" in the Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications.

To ensure backwards-compatibility with existing deployments and consistency throughout the SDK, Web services, and operations continue to identify these managed items only as "devices". When considering the impact of SDK operations on the user interface, consider the terms "device" and "asset" interchangeable.
