Roles provide a mechanism for grouping users for notifications. Roles act as distribution lists for Axeda® Platform actions, such as paging and e-mail notifications. Role designations are maintained in the Platform and have no application outside the Platform.
Roles are created in the Administration application (from the New menu, select Role). Only Administrators can create roles.
