Overview of Scheduling

Schedule Management allows you to control when reports are run. You can schedule reports to run at a time that is convenient for your organization. For example, you may want to run reports during off-peak hours. You can also schedule reports to report at specified intervals. For example, you may want to run reports for management once a month.

Schedule Management also allows you to control how reports are run. You can schedule reports individually, and you can create jobs to schedule multiple reports at once. Job schedules are independent of report schedules.

You can create a schedule for an individual report, report view, or job by clicking the Schedule link in the Actions column. To manage schedules, click the Schedule Management link in the menu bar. The Schedule Management page provides two tabs, Activity and Schedule. From the Activity tab, you can view and manage the running of reports. From the Schedule tab you can view and manage scheduled report runs.

For details on using setting up a schedule or using the Activity and Schedule tabs, click the Help link in the gray bar on the Schedule and Schedule Management pages.

Tips

Scheduling provides a variety of Frequency options. For example, you can schedule reports and jobs to run on the last day of each month, the last day of each week, or the last day of the year. You can also schedule them to be triggered by occurrences, such as a database refreshes or e-mail messages. You can specify start and end dates and times for the schedule. The scheduling page also allows you to change the Run Options for a report (formats, language, and delivery) and the Prompt values. The options and values you select here will be used when the scheduled run occurs.

Only one schedule can be associated with each report. If you require multiple schedules for a report or agent entry, create report views and then create a schedule for each view.

After you create a schedule, the report or job runs at the time and date specified. You can then view the scheduled entries, manage them, cancel or suspend them, or disable them temporarily.

When you click this link in the menu bar of the Axeda Report application, the Schedule Management tool is started.
