Each package has the following properties: a name, a package ID, and a time at which the package is to be executed. Any subsequent communication between the Axeda Platform and the Agent concerning the execution or status of the package uses the package ID as the unique identifier for the package. The Agents use the time to determine when to execute the package. The time is in seconds since 1970 in UTC. If the time is missing or is later than the time on the Agent system, the Agents execute the package immediately. The Agents maintain queues of packages that are scheduled to be run later.
Note: Agents created using the Axeda Wireless Protocol (AWP) toolkit support only the file upload and file download instructions for a package. In addition, they support only manual deployment. The Axeda IDM Agents also support only the file upload and file download instructions; however, they do support automatic deployment.
