When you upload a custom application, you choose a display mode based on how you'd like your custom application to be viewed by Axeda® Connected Product Management Applications users. You can choose to use either Standalone mode, or Extended tab mode. If you select Standalone mode, then the custom application is launched in full screen mode on top of the Axeda Applications. No other specifications are needed.
If you select Extended Tab mode, then the custom application is launched along side the Axeda Applications tabs as one of the 5 available custom tabs, and additional specifications must be made.
When you select the Extended tab display mode for your custom application, you can then specify the name of the tab, where it should be displayed in the tab grouping, and any privileges that are required for a user to view the extended tab:
o A custom tab name can be added for every supported locale. You can even use duplicate names, for example, if you plan to modify your Axeda Applications instance to make your custom application the new Home tab, you could name it "Home".
o You can specify where you'd like your custom application tab to be displayed alongside the Axeda Applications tabs. You cannot change the placement of permanent tabs, but you can choose to show your tab first (before all tabs) or after any other existing tab.
o You must select the view privilege that is required for users to see your extended tab and therefore access your custom application (for example, view-custom-tab-1). There are 5 view privileges, one for each possible extended tab. Each view privilege can be used for only one extended tab at a time.
