The Edit the details for this IDM Web Service Extension page enables
you to change the configuration of a selected extension. You can change
the values in all of the fields.
For background information, refer to Using
the IDM Web Service Extensions.
You must select or enter values for all the fields on this page.
1. From the list of Web Services, select the IDM Web service to use: ACM, Alert, FileRepositoryManager, MonitorManager, Registration, RemoteAccessManager, Security, SoftwareDIrector, TotalAccess, UsageJobManager, or Custom WebService (select this option if you have created your own custom Web service for the IDM Agents). If you need assistance with any of these IDM Web services, refer to the IDM documentation.
If you selected Custom WebService, a text field appears in which you should enter the name of your custom Web Service. Make sure you match the case of the name exactly. Otherwise, you will see an error message.
If you created a custom object to create a Communication Mode property and set its value (for Occasionally Connected IDM Agents), select Registration for this field.
2. In the Operation field, type the name of the IDM Web service operation for this extension. This operation may be one of the standard operations for the Web service or it may be a custom operation. For example, you may have written a custom operation for the Registration Web service that sends a message to a CRM system when an IDM agent registers.
If you created a custom object to create a Communication Mode property and set its value (for Occasionally Connected IDM Agents), type registerAsset or updateAssetProfile, or both.
3. From the list of Extension Types, select preConsume, service, or postConsume.
If you created a custom object to create a Communication Mode property and set its value (for Occasionally Connected IDM Agents), select postConsume.
4. From the list of Custom Objects configured in the system (and to which you have access), select the Custom Object that will run the extension.
5. Click Submit. The Select IDM Web Service Extensions to edit page appears with the changed entry.
Notes:
The names of Web services are case-sensitive; make sure that you match
the case exactly.
You can have only ONE Web Service Extension of type "service"
for any combination of Web Service and Operation. If you try to save another
WS Extension of type "service" for a Web Service/Operation combination,
you are not allowed to save that WS Extension until you change the Extension
Type or the combination of Web Service and Operation to one that does
not yet have a "service" type Extension.
