For Axeda Gateway and Axeda Connector Agents, the Platform allows you to specify a Destination directory other than the Home directory for the Agent. It also allows you to specify a subdirectory of the Agent home directory and then select the next option, Path is relative to asset's home directory, to indicate that the path is a subdirectory of the Agent home directory. The Home directory for the Agent is the directory that contains the configuration and data files for the Agent. The Home directory may or may not also contain the executable files. With a default installation of Axeda Gateway on Windows, for example, the Home directory is c:\Axeda\Gateway, and it does contain both types of files. For the Home directory to not contain the executables, the person responsible for installing the Agent and setting up the asset must have moved the executable files to a different directory.
Important! If you are using
the Home directory for configuration/data files and a separate directory
for the executable files, you MUST create one package for configuration/data
files and another package for the executable files. Axeda Agent Embedded
does not support the Execute instruction, so this does not apply to packages
for Agent Embedded devices.
For Agent Embedded, make sure that the file specification does NOT contain
any wildcards.
If the asset is in Backup Agent mode and you are configuring a package
to repair the Primary Agent, you need to specify an ABSOLUTE path for
the download directory. See Backup Agent Definition
for more information.
For this option, the "asset's home directory" is assumed to be the Home directory for the Gateway or Connector Agent installation on the asset.
The application assumes this directory in the Destination path when you select this option.
Note: If you select this
parameter AND you enter a relative path, the file will be downloaded the
specified directory within the default agent installation directory (that
is, axeda\connector or axeda\gateway). If you do NOT select this parameter
AND you enter a relative path, the file will be downloaded to the specified
directory within the default Axeda installation directory, (at the same
level as the agent application).
For example, with this parameter selected and a path defined as "..\downloads",
the downloaded files will be downloaded to "c:\axeda\connector\downloads".
With this parameter unselected and a path defined as "..\downloads",
the downloaded files will be downloaded to "c:\axeda\downloads"
